I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who resides in Anchorage, Alaska. I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. I have experience with working with individuals, couples, and families since graduating in 2003. I have worked within residential treatment facilities, community IOP programs, and outpatient therapy. I am Certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Certified Havening®  therapist, and EMDR trained.

My primary focus in therapy is to help individuals who have experienced disturbing, troubling or traumatic events in their life and who are still impacted by these events and impacting their day to day living. I work with individuals to help increase understanding how these experiences are held not only in the narrative of words or their story, but how these events are held somatically in our bodies. I teach from a mindful approach to explore how, as a whole, we experience these through different organization of experience. Each individual has a different way in how they organize their experience and events. I also help normalize the way our brain processes information and how we can work toward a path for healing.  We work together on helping heal the bodies response to these events by exploring ways to work with the dysregulation or activation and heal unresolved processing of events.  Change can be a difficult process, can be confusing, and can affect day to day living. I help guide this change by helping increase their own awareness to their experiences and the impact it has had. I help individual also explore their own existing resources and strengthen these resources and help develop new strategies to manage dysregulation or cope. My hope is not only to increase understanding, but to guide individuals to a new way of living.

Havening has been a tool to help clients with dysregulation and learning to self manage their own dysregulation. Havening has been beneficial with shifting beliefs and emotions to feel there is possibility of change. It has contributed to being able to move forward from a place of feeling stuck or bumping up against barriers to change. Havening can be helpful for managing dysregulation, processing through intense emotions or beliefs one may have about themselves and shift into a new sense of resiliency. Havening can also helpful with processing how old events get stuck or encoded, which keep us in reaction, and move toward a place of being responsive.

I work with individuals who suffer from traumatic events (PTSD), relational or attachment wounding, depression, anxiety, panic, phobias, self-esteem, relational difficulties. I work with individuals 18 years and older. I also work with couples in therapy.
