Havening Global Outreach
We encourage Havening delegates and practitioners to explore two organizations that use
Havening for humanitarian purposes. These are Humanitarian Havening and the Peaceful Heart
Network, described below. Participation in these groups helps spread Havening worldwide.
Humanitarian Havening
If you are looking to use Havening with communities in need worldwide, you can get support by
joining Humanitarian Havening, which was started in 2023 by Erika Neil, Irene Hajisava, and
Eugenia Karahalias, who are social workers and Havening trainers. The Humanitarian Havening
model is designed for communities in crisis that are already at an elevated activation level. It
uses Havening touch in a safe way that is best for challenged settings domestic or abroad.
To participate you begin by watching a training recording describing the model and
considerations when working in these distressed communities. After watching the training, you
will receive access to resource materials, regular meetings, and ongoing support.
Humanitarian Havening is peer-led and we develop ideas jointly. We are primarily a support
group that provides collaboration and resources. Currently we have initiatives in Africa, the
Middle East, and in practitioners' resident countries. There is a fee for the training recording with
certificate of completion, but the ongoing support and resources are free. This is the form to sign
up for the training and materials: https://form.jotform.com/230773939256164

Peaceful Heart Network
If you are doing or looking to do humanitarian or community outreach you will benefit from
understanding the basic principles and possible challenges. We (Gunilla Hamne and Havening
Trainer Ulf Sandstrom) started our work in 2007 and have since reached an approximate of
300.000 people in 45 countries with a toolkit that makes First Aid for Stress and Trauma (FAST)
possible for anyone, even children. Our Hero Techniques are the Trauma Tapping Technique
and simplified Self-Havening.
Trauma Tapping (TTT) is a simplified, language and content free tapping modality. Self-
Havening by Dr Ruden is a simplified similar modality that uses three types of stroking touch
and builds on the same hypothesis of depotentiation.
You don't join us, we join you. We offer free trainings, certification and mentoring the last
Wednesday of each month (donation optional and appreciated). Help yourself to free materials
and videos on our website, www.peacefulheart.se and our free app Self Help for Trauma in 34
languages, with TTT, Havening and breathing instructions. Our website is
