Greetings from Portugal!
Little did I know how my life would change after attending a Deep Calm Havening Touch workshop with Havening Trainer, Elena Kindler! I was touched by her calm and yet passionate commitment to Havening Touch. Though I was not sure whether I was 'doing it right', I experimented with a number of patterns (emotional and physical) and saw them start to change. Seeing this, I became a student and have just completed the Training with Elena.
I was not new to the mind-body connection. At 26, I was labelled "permanently and totally disabled' by the US Government as a result of extreme multiple chemical sensitivity. At my doctor's insistence, I lived in one room that had nothing in it except two chairs and a lamp. The room was called a 'bubble' and in it, and many other 'bubbles' over twenty years, I spent hours exploring and unravelling the mindbody connection within myself.
My book, Love is the Healer, is the story of my healing journey.
Upon re-entering the world, I found myself in Australia and incredibly passionate to introduce others to the mindbody connection. I developed a course, MindBody Healing, and taught it within the Master's Degree in Wellness program at RMIT University, Melbourne, and also within several Australian nursing schools and hospitals. I also was fortunate to receive two grants allowing me to introduce Guided Imagery into two Australian hospitals and a nursing school. Finally, I learned how to transform my sensitivity into the ability to connect intuitively with others. I have worked intuitively with babies before they are born for many years - and with adults too!
I have an MSW degree, am certified in Guided Imagery through the Academy of Guided Imagery (Dr. David Bressler) and have completed many courses through NICABM (National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine) and other training institutions.
I presently work with women who would like to conceive, women who are pregnant, and men and women who have had traumatic pasts, or who feel 'stuck'. I am learning how to create a session that begins with my making an intuitive connection with my client, learning more about the challenge through this connection, and then moves directly into Havening Touch.
