I’ve found it a user-friendly stress management methodology and coping tool, that people can easily exercise for quick-acting physical and emotional self-regulation.
Having worked with young children and youth on the Autistic Spectrum, I feel Havening can give kids experiencing mental tension or anxiety the ability to access a safe, calm state; simply through a basic sense of touch; while simultaneously reenforcing positive messaging.
Recently, I have also done volunteer stress-management and trauma work using Havening Techniques to very good effect in supporting families who have had to evacuate their homes ravaged by war.
Havening as a psychosensory technique, closely follows my own deep-seated beliefs as a body psycho-therapist. I look forward adding Havening to my therapy regimen.
