Hi, I’m Maj-Britt (pronounced My-Britt), and I've always been fascinated by people—by how we heal when life has felt like it's cast too many stones. By how we make sense of our experiences and choices, how we cope with difficult things, and how we find our way into who we are now. How we make peace with the past and find a new sense of belonging: to ourselves first, then in our relationships and the rest of life.
In my work as a psychotherapist, coach and Havening Techniques® practitioner, I offer a space where people feel comfortable enough to be honest, feel understood without fear of being judged, and are truly listened to.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling anxious, exhausted, disconnected from themselves, low on hope, or caught in patterns they want to find a way out of. Many have experienced unspeakable things. Together we explore what's happening beneath the surface, give space to grieve, to understand, to heal and to develop practical tools to help them move forward with greater peace and confidence.
Alongside my private practice, I currently work within community mental health services and have previously supported people affected by suicide through Chris's House.
I work primarily in person from Central Scotland.
I believe there is something powerful about being face to face. Havening is a deeply experiential process, and for many people there is real value in sharing the same physical space while doing this work.
Online sessions are also available for those who are further afield.
If you're wondering whether therapy that includes Havening Techniques® might be helpful for you, I'd love to hear from you.
