Fran’s own experiences of trauma and adversity, which started early in childhood, led her to search for alternative ways of understanding trauma and healing. When she discovered Havening, she realised the possibilities and hope Havening has to offer.
Fran works with individuals from all walks of life with various presenting issues or challenges, childhood trauma, domestic abuse, assault, miscarriage trauma, and many other traumatic events and memories which have left life-altering consequences. Emotional distress, chronic stress, workplace stress, and post-traumatic stress, to name but a few.
She has delivered numerous introductions to Havening including tailored and collaborative introductions such as - Introducing Havening: a therapeutic approach to the long term mind-body effects of childhood trauma and the effectiveness for those at risk/in the care system. Fran has shared Self-Havening with groups including those who’ve experienced different adverse childhood experiences, women in recovery, and nursing students for workplacement stress and building resilience.
As well as her work with Havening, some of Fran's contributions include many years of experience in elderly, end of life and palliative care; served as a trustee for the Open Nest — a charity born from personal experiences of adoption and long term fostering of traumatised children; is an independent panel member for an adoption panel; and co-founder of the Transracial Adult Adoptee Network (TAAN).
Additionally, Fran was involved in the early beginnings of Tina's Haven—a catalyst for emancipatory praxis, rooted in nature, creativity, and collective healing for women separated from their children due to trauma-based addictions. She also wrote the foreword for the powerful anthology ‘It’s Not Symptomatic, It’s Systemic’ from Sunday Mornings at the River, that unravels the intricate layers of trauma, resilience, and the systemic forces that shape our lives.
Fran works one to one, in person in Bromley and online worldwide. She welcomes contact to discuss one-to-one sessions, introductions to Havening, Self-Havening workshops, or training opportunities.
