I think that it is important that people find the psychologist who is right for them. My clients tell me that I challenge them, help them to deal with things—and that I make them laugh. Everyone has a story and I would feel privileged to listen to yours. I think story telling can be an effective and enjoyable way of working out how we can change our lives. I love dogs and am passionate abut interior design and adventure.

My background

I have an honours degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology (BA (Hons), D Psych) with forensic endorsement and a Master of Clinical Family Therapy (MClinFamTh) and I am a registered psychologist. I have many years of experience working in both clinical and forensic settings. I have experience helping people deal with anxiety, depression, feelings of "I'm not good enough" and "I need to control everything" as well as a broad range of other problem behaviours.

With the kind of life and professional experience that I have, I will work to help you feel better from your initial visit. I work with adult clients and my approach is somewhat unconventional; I offer a fusion of treatment techniques and adapt them to use what is most suited to you based on your individual personality and life circumstances. Each person has unique strengths, needs and habits and I borrow from a variety of treatment perspectives to find what resonates with you. Of-course, I have experience and qualifications in various treatment models such as:

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Havening ®, Internal Family Systems Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), and other evidence-based psychological treatments and I utilise these models when appropriate.

I also have nearly 40 years of policing experience. I have been a criminal profiler with the International Criminal Investigative Fellowship, an FBI affiliated organisation, for the past 20 years.

Clinical Psychology fees

As a Clinical Psychologist, I charge the standard rate of $190 per hour. Most of my clients are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $124.50, which means that they end up $65.50 out-of-pocket for each session.

Medicare rebates

Medicare rebates are available if you have a mental health treatment plan from your GP. To see if you are eligible for this rebate, please consult your GP. Alternately, if you don’t have a GP, feel free to contact me about GP’s that I recommend.

Private Health Cover

If you have private health insurance, you will be eligible for some form of rebate; the amount depends on your level of cover and your health fund.

Forensic Psychology

I also work with people involved in legal processes and consult to various agencies on psychological matters. Seeing me can provide you with invaluable support during this challenging process.
I provide:

  • Risk of offending assessments, Pre-sentence reports & Treatment progress reports.
  • Treatment of specific problem behaviours such as violence or sexual offending

Pricing for forensic Psychological Court Reports is available upon request.
