Joan started her career as a Teacher of the Deaf and is gifted and intuitive in teaching, coaching, mentoring, supervision and training.  She is an International NLP Trainers Association (INLPTA) Master Practitioner and Trainer in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and a qualified Multi-braining Integration Techniques Coach (mBIT). She has an MA in Leadership and Management and National Professional Qualification for Headship. This means that she brings a wide range of knowledge, skills and experiences to provide high quality ‘brain-friendly’ coaching and training tools and techniques to support individuals, teams and senior leaders to grow and develop further.  

Joan is highly qualified, skilled and experienced in providing transformative coaching and training for individuals and Senior Leaders in Education, Business, Health, Social Care and Charitable organisations. She has experience as Head of Sensory Service (education for Deaf and blind children), Ofsted Inspector Early Years, School Improvement Coach and Advisor and Strategic Leader Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Joan is currently a Director of the Interaction Communication Academy Trust of Special schools.

Joan is a co-founder and Director of Shared Inspiration Ltd. Together with her co-Director and Associates, Joan delivers high quality transformative coaching and training. Shared Inspiration has a really big ‘why’ – the mission is to ‘Help people help people’. The vision of Shared Inspiration is that individuals and teams will ‘Be well, thrive and flourish’. The coaching and training provided by Joan, her Co-Director and Associates supports people in their wellbeing and resilience, empowering individuals and teams to further develop creativity, overcome obstacles and achieve their wishes, dreams and desired outcomes. Since March 2021 Joan has added the technique of Havening into the offer to support people in their management of distress, stress, self-regulation and to build strength and resilience in individuals and teams. The use of Havening is proving to be very beneficial to clients to support wellbeing, management of trauma, anxiety, distress and to build even more resilience. Clients are also using self- Havening very effectively as a self-help ‘rescue-remedy’ when needed in times of anxiety and/or stress.   

Joan combines skill in the use of coaching, training and Havening tools and techniques, with deep self-trust, intuition and rapport. This means that she works impactfully and sensitively with individuals and teams enabling them to thrive, flourish and relate even better together, making sure everyone enjoys the journey.
