Havening Techniques® is a neurscience informed modality, which is designed to help us easily let go of traumatic stress, to de-escalate emotional disregulation at times of overwelm, ie during humanitarian crisis, to support the building of emotional resilience, growth and neuroplasticity, towards a better version of ourselves, and to improve our performance in a specific goal. The unique thing about Havening® is how simple it is to use, either with someone else or as a self-havening® practice.
During Havening the aim is to positive influence the brain by de-linking unhelpful emotions from traumatic or recurring stressful memory's and remove their negative effects from both our mind and body. A key part of The Havening Techniques involves using the highly researched power of human touch as a therapeutic tool, which we refer to as Havening Touch®. Another key part is distraction whilst embracing the power of imagination, attention and intention towards a better future self. Through this unique process we're more able to build resilience and wellbeing from the inside out and its leading to some very impressive results.
In Havening we are deeply aware of the power of 'encoded' trauma and associated stressful memories upon the autonomic nervous system, which if left untreated can cause fight flight freeze levels of toxic stress, greater vulnerability to stress related ill-health, pain, low levels of resilience. Havening offers a range of simple yet powerful tools that can be used to treat the consequences of encoded trauma and toxic stress.
Depending on the nature of the issue it can be done with guidance by a certified Havening Techniques practitioner or by oneself. Please do not use the Havening Techniques with yourself for a serious trauma or if you suffer from any psychological disorders. We advise that you seek the help of a professional mental health care provider who is certified in the Havening Techniques if you have experienced severe trauma or suffer
